Traditions of the Sun: Yucatan explores the archaeoastronomy, history, and rich culture of the Maya of the Yucatan Peninsula. The book contains photographs from a variety of sources including many taken by Ideum over four visits to the region in 2004-2005.

Developed in collaboration with NASA's Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum and Instituto Nacional de Antropolgia e Historia (INAH), the book is written in Yucatec Maya, Spanish, and English languages. It is a companion publication for the interactive Traditions of the Sun website. Distributed free of charge for educational use, the book is available through NASA's Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum.
